Are the items solid silver or gold?
The items currently presented on our site are all manufactured in hallmarked silver or gold. The items own information page, has details clarifying the items manufactured metal (Sterling Silver or Gold), and also includes the items dimensions and weight, to help you understand more about our jewellery before you place an order.
Do the items have a hallmark on them?
Once an item has been made, it is sent to Birmingham’s own Assay Office, where it is tested and individually stamped with the ‘Thoroughbred’ horse logo, the Jeweller/Director’s own initials, ACLM, the grade of purity relating to the type of metal used (925 for Sterling Silver, 375 for 9ct Gold, 750 for 18ct Gold, or 950 for Platinum), and the Assay Office’s Anchor emblem.
The hallmarking process on average takes up to one week (depending on the time of year), but for special circumstances, you can ask us to pre-arrange for a faster service. This option carries an additional charge depending on the individual requirements, but we can give you an indication of these charges if you contact us.
Unique pieces ordered in 9ct gold, 18ct gold or Platinum, and diamond set pieces will also carry the AM signature initials of the Jeweller/Director, Andrew Moss, stamped on them.
Are all the pieces made in this country?
Yes, they are. However, not only is every item of jewellery hand crafted in England, we are also extremely proud to say that each piece is personally silversmithed or goldsmithed to your order in Birmingham’s own historic Jewellery Quarter.
Can I ask for a alternative piece to be diamond set?
Of course you can. The Diamond set option is limited purely for unique pieces which are ordered in 9ct gold, 18ct gold, or Platinum.
Currently, only specific items can be ordered as diamond set (the Dutch Gag, the Rugby Pelham, the Snaffle and the Weymouth), but if you would like to know more, please feel free to contact us for further information.
Is it possible for me to get my item of jewellery made and sent any quicker?
Since the designs that we offer are so unique, each and every item is individually crafted to your order.
Therefore, we don’t carry a supply of finished pieces waiting to be boxed and shipped out once an order is placed. The earliest you place your order, the sooner we can proceed and complete your item of jewellery, pending current order schedules. (Some items naturally take longer to manufacture than others.)
However, if you have a special date or occasion in mind, then please let us know as early as possible so that we can do everything in our power to meet your wishes. Any priority arrangement may incur some additional cost, but this will be confirmed with you for your approval, before we proceed with your order.
Can I ask for an alternative equestrian design to be made?
We are always looking at and working with ideas for future pieces, so please feel free to ask us about a design which isn’t currently available.
Please be aware that any new design may become a more involved process, even requiring your approval before the piece can be completed. This therefore may increase the costs and manufacturing times involved. You will be advised of any estimated differences before we proceed with your order.
How will you send my jewellery to me, and is there an extra charge for shipping?
Once your item of jewellery is ready to send out to you, we will contact you (by your specified preference of telephone or email), to inform you that your jewellery will be sent by courier to your confirmed shipping address, and will need to be signed for upon delivery. Each item will have its own unique I.D. number, for tracking purposes.
There are no extra shipping charges for any item being sent within the United Kingdom.
For Sterling Silver items of jewellery, there are charges for shipping to E.U. member countries, and also for the Rest Of The World.
For Gold, Platinum and Diamond inset orders, there are no extra shipping charges.
Please be aware, that at traditionally busier times of the year (February for Valentines Day, and December for Christmas) order or delivery times may vary. Please contact us, or place your order as early as possible, to avoid disappointment.
Thankyou!
Can you send an item to an address outside of the United Kingdom?
We are always delighted to be able to help any of our clients who are resident in another country!
Our shipping options cater for the majority of countries around the World. However, if for any reason there is an issue in shipping items to a particular address, then please contact us directly so that we can make the necessary arrangements with you and our shipping department to resolve the situation.
